Cabo Memories

Since you asked, I've created a photo gallery of our recent Cabo trip. I also made a LO of Gene playing volleyball using the great nighttime shot I got of the empty volleyball court on the beach. I used Barbara Lee's "Colorado" Kit for the elements.

Tomorrow we are off to Hawaii (Kona) to join our friends Fay & Jilly at their time-share. Afterward we will be joining our friends Jim and Kim for a couple of days. It's our first time on the big Island so I've been told there won't be much pool time.

Cobo Reality Check

While we are back home and back to work our heads are still in Cabo. Gene can't understand why I kept taking photos of horses since I don't particularly like riding them. Here's one of the many reasons — a view of horses taken at dusk on the beach. I hope to find time to do some Cabo layouts for you.

Cabo Goodbye

Today is our last day in Cabo. We started the morning with a sunrise walk on the beach. The wave crashes were spectacular and loud and fearsome. The Royal Solaris released another 52 turtles this morning. There were just a few of us to see them swim out to the sea.

Cabo Footprints in the Sand

This is Gene's idea of a joke. Can you see it? We truly believe in leaving only footprints. These are from our walk on the beach last evening at dusk. Another beautiful evening.

Cabo WOW!

Our sunset walk along the beach was so very romantic. A picture is certainly worth a millions word so here's one of each. WOW!

Cabo Fun Never Stops

Yesterday, we went on a Canopy Tour in the desert. Gene loved it all. I loved the zipping but freaked on crossing the river on a cable 20 feet up and later skipped the rappel. We lucked out with the weather, it was threatening rain so the overcast keep the blazing sun off us.

We got back to the resort just in time to see the Royal Solaris, where we are now staying, release the turtles that had hatched earlier in the day. We got to hold them first and then laid them all on the sand by the water's edge and watched them get swept up by the waves. Way cool.

Cabo Fun

And the fun never stops. Enjoyed more beach walks as we watched this youngster jump the waves on his jet ski.

Cabo Wabo

Well, it's been another wonderful day in Cabo. Yesterday we went snorkeling to Cabo Pulmo, Baja's only living coral reef. Wow! It was spectacular. Later we drove into Cabo San Lucas for dinner at Cabo Wabo and some of their great tequilla.

Today, we vegged at the pool and took long walks on the beach where we encountered these three horse men. Everyone deserves a vacation like this.

Cabo Loving

Having a wonderful time in Cabo. We are currently staying at the Cabo Azul in Cabo San Jose. Here's a photo taken toward the beach at dusk from the last of the three infinity pools. The pools are so relaxing and beautiful.

We found out that you can stay at Cabo Azul for 4 nights for only $299 USD and a 90-minute spiel on Monarch Vacations. They will tell you they are not a time share because they use points and not weeks but it's essentially the same thing. You can then go next door to the Royal Solaris and they will pay you 3,000 pesos (~$250 USD) to sit through their spiel. What a deal! Let us know if you are interested and we can set it up.

Back to all the fun we are having. Here's a photos of the same infinity pool around 8 AM. This resort is one of the most beautiful we have ever been to. I'll try to get a night time photo with all the flames lit.

Cabo Bound

We are off to Cabo later today. This is our beach time between water and snow skiing.

I been working long hours to get all my jobs done so I can relax and enjoy our vacation. I've been squeezing in a bit of scanning of old photos and found this wonderful one of my mom and dad on their wedding day in 1948. I believe it is the first and only time my mom wore make-up. They look so young and innocent. They moved to LA from Milwaukee on their honeymoon and settled in to do a wonderful job raising us five kids.
