Thank you SO much for coming to my rescue, however, the trouble is that I'm not able to get into my system at all to run any kind of diagnostics.
First time for everything and this is one of them for me! I'm having a hunch I may need to remove the HD and hook it up to another computer. I get a little sketchy with something of this magnitude and I'm hoping to feel sharp enough in the next few days to attempt a dramatic resolution! LOL!

P.S. As an avid skier, I am guessing that you have been enjoying the Winter Olympics! We are sitting here on the edge of our seats watching men's hockey as I type ... overtime!
